The Organic Cooperative is a non–profit organisation that promotes local food and organic food in Wales. Our aim is to encourage people to buy local food and organic food direct from producers in their area. We try to give you a comprehensive list of food producers and retailers in Wales, if you would like to suggest a producer or retailer please contact us. We can't be held responsible if you have a dispute with any producer held on our pages. However, we would like to know if you have a dispute and are happy to help you resolve this, if we can.

If you have the time please support Hugh Fearnley–Whittingstall's campaign for a free range future for chickens. Click on the banner below (opens a new window).

Cegin Pennant owned by Eluned Owen sells preserves and baked goods that are created using local ingredients (except for the marmalade, as Wales just isn’t the place for growing oranges!). Eluned doesn’t like to use ingredients unless she knows where they are from which in our book pretty much guarantees an excellent product. Her raspberry jam won first prize at the Eglwysbach Show. Specialities in the baked goods are bara brith, fruit pies and Welsh cakes, baked using free range eggs. Her produce is sold through Pantri Cymraeg, The Maes, Caernarfon, Café Cwrt in Cricceith and the café at the garden centre Bryncir, as well as at Llanberis Farmers' Market.

Calon Lân Calon Lân promise not to use genetically modified plant material in their food, and are always looking at ways of minimising their impact on the environment. They have asked their Camelina growers to minimise their use of fertilisers and not to spray the crops if possible. They were the first to bring Camelina oil to the UK. It can be drizzled on salads, rice or potatoes but can't be used for deep frying (as this would destroy the goodness). Camelina oil is one of the best natural sources of omega 3 and vitamin E and offers an extraordinary blend of beneficial polyunsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants.
